From Darwin through today, the stereotypes of the male as the active player in sex and the female as a passive recipient of sperm have guided biological and evolutionary research.
Coupled with the authority of science, these assumptions have falsely shaped the way in which the wider world views those possessing vaginas.
It’s time to re-write these stories.
Learn more about how multi-chambered vaginas, temporary passages, pseudo-penises, vaginas that can sort sperm, and armoured vaginal openings put female animals in the driver's seat of sex and reproduction.
